If you are recovering from a motor vehicle accident it is important that you attend your doctor regularly so that they may oversee and document your recovery. Going to see many different doctors at different walk-in clinics is generally a bad idea as multiple notes from different doctors will usually make it more difficult to establish a clear, consistent timeline of the progress of your recovery and the symptoms you are continuing to experience. Instead, it is a good idea to have a family doctor who you see regularly, so that they may monitor and document your recovery. If you cannot find a family doctor, visit the same doctor at the same clinic. Be sure to follow the doctor’s instructions regarding any treatment he or she recommends. While you are in significant pain, make sure your doctor examines you at least once per month. If you don’t have a family doctor that you can see, our personal injury and ICBC lawyers can provide you with a recommendation for one.
